Illustration Friday - Jungle

Meet the jungle lizard

In real life he is a gigantic lizard that lives on a huge teapot in the Wisconsin-based "House on the Rock" .

I sketched him last year when we were there and he just seemed perfect for the theme of "jungle".

Colored pencil and ink

If the lizard wants tea, then we had better provide some biscuits and polite conversation too. (plus I think the lizard will keep the flies away...)

I would venture to guess he really likes tea!I would not offer him a sugar cube though. Great lizard and I love the handle on the teapot!

Looks like he/she would be very much at ease in any jungle, fearsome looking and a beatiful color-looks like violet. Your sketches and enthusiasm for capturing the moment are inspiring!
